Our history
The demand and urge to practice Bodybuilding naturally and participate competitively was growing. Athletes, gym owners and parents were increasingly asking for something to be realised and this gave rise to the creation of a drug free organisation in Belgium. In 1988 to 1990, there was a preliminary investigation into starting a sustainable development.
In 1996, the “NCOBB vzw.” (stands for Natural Contest Organisation Bodybuilding Belgium) further developed into a full-fledged association that appeared in the Staatblad and became a member of the International Federation NBBFI (umbrella body) and later UIBBN with headquarters in France the same year.
Internationally, it participated in European and World Championships from then on and successfully. NCOBB successfully hosted the World Cup in 1997, 2003 and 2016. In 2017, our organisation left UIBBN along with many of the other European countries. After several years of searching for a new international partner organisation, we joined ICN Worldwide in 2022. After successful participations at the European Championships in Poitiers (France) and the World Championships in Prague (Czech Republic), we decided to make ourselves members, so NCOBB was also named ICN Belgium from then on.
Our mission
Participate in a doping-free and controlled Sports Federation.
The aim is to hold fair and doping-free competitions so that athletes can continue to play recreational, safe and healthy sports after their sporting careers without the negative consequences and side effects of banned substances.
Doping control is carried out by the Flemish and Walloon Community. Doping tests are checked by a toxicological examination of the urine at the Merelbeke Laboratory led by Dr Delbeke of the University of Ghent.
Any Athlete can be tested every year equal when ttz. At training, on and off competition and cannot be refused. See regulations for more information.
